Our mission, at Aging in Place with Pets℠, is to help older adults and disabled adults to take care of their pets by providing interventions to those who live within the greater Burlington area and consultations to those who live within or outside of the greater Burlington area. And we stand up for those who represent these vulnerable, but still very much capable, populations in order to keep them with their pets since they motivate them to stay independent within the comfort of their and their pets' homes.
who we Strive to Become
Our vision is to continue to pioneer, the role of occupational therapy in this often-overlooked instrumental activity of daily (IADL) among older adults and disabled adults. We are redefining what it means to "age in place" among these vulnerable populations whose cats and dogs represent the cornerstone of their lives by helping them to structure their morning, daytime, evening, and nighttime routines around their pets. And we believe that our extensive knowledge and expertise on this very subtle, yet highly effective, way to reduce loneliness among older adults and disabled adults is invaluable.
