OUR MISSION
Our mission, at Aging in Place with Pets, is to help older adults and disabled adults in the Greater Burlington, Vermont Area to take care of their pets. We stand up for those who represent these vulnerable, but still capable, populations to keep them with their pets since they motivate them to get, and stay, independent within the comfort of their and their pets' homes.
OUR VISION
Our vision is to continue to pioneer the role of occupational therapy in the United States in this often-overlooked Instrumental Activity of Daily Living among older adults and disabled adults. We are redefining what it means to "age in place" among these vulnerable populations whose cats and dogs represent the cornerstone of their lives by helping them to structure their morning, daytime, evening, and nighttime routines around their pets.
We believe that our extensive knowledge and expertise on using this very subtle, yet highly effective, approach to improve the physical, cognitive, and mental health of older adults and disabled adults is invaluable.

Volunteering & Community Service
Everyone on our team is committed to volunteering two or more hours per week for our Tuesday & Thursday Program, which helps some of the most vulnerable populations — and therefore pets — in the Greater Burlington, Vermont Area.
Most of our participants are single, low-income (or very-low income, including formerly homeless) older adults and disabled adults with multiple, chronic health conditions.
